Description

First consumed by soldiers during the war for its medicinal properties, Absinthe was popularised in the 19th century by the French bourgeoisie. It was then banned in France in 1915 because it supposedly drove people mad (Van Gogh), before reappearing in 2011. The Ælred Absinthe is made in the traditional way with a rigorous selection of plants - including the Holy Trinity made up of Grande Absinthe, Anis Vert and Fenouil - macerated in alcohol and then distilled.
